Since Juli 2015 there are new rules for the free braces! As a Qualified Orthodontist for Vienna health Insurance, we offer free braces aswell, that means Patients get 80-100% of the health insurance tariffs refunded.
Gratis-Zahnspange-free braces, requirements for reimbursement from insurance
Children in mixed dentition and Permanent dentition between age of 6–18 yrs.
Very Imp: Even Adults if there severity grade of misalignment of teeth lies between IOTN 3 /4/5, they get back some part of tariffs (depending on type of insurance) from health insurance as well.
- There must be a severe malocclusion of teeth and Jaws in order to be entitled to free braces.

- Before starting the Orthodontic treatment your application must be submitted to health insurance, if it is positive then 80–100% of the health insurance tariffs will be submitted.
Tipp: check with your insurance befor starting your treatment. - only orthodontic treatment with metal braces, Patients have the right for reimbursement from insurance.
- an additional payment for Ceramic braces are not permitted with health insurance braces.

Gratis-Zahnspange, Interceptive treatment in Mixed dentition
Wechselgebiss (Erklärender externer Link), or mixed dentition period from age of 6-10 yrs and is an early phase of treatment.
Duration of treatment is max. 1 year:
- After finishing 1 year of active treatment, regular control appointment are carried out at intervals of 6 months.
- During this phase children loose their milk teeth and permanent teeth erupts.
- At the age of 12-13 years the children are checked again to determine whether they require further orthodontic treatment.
- If they need treatment, mostly with fixed braces treated.
Malocclusion or misalignment of teeth and jaws which absolutely need orthodontic treatment:
- Habits correction such as: Tongue thrusting, incorrect swallowing pattern, Thumb sucking, Lip biting,Nail biting
- Kreuzbiss Crossbites unilateral and/or bilateral posterior. Crossbite of front teeth / Progener Zwangbiss
- Front Openbite offener Biss
- Crowding of dental arch

Orthodontic treatment (Zahnregulierung), Gratis Zahnspange with fixed braces or removable
IOTN grade 4 or 5 will be treated exclusively with metal braces.
TIPP: even in case of IOTN 4 or 5 difficulty grade of malocclusion or misalignment of teeth and jaws, we recommend direct contact with your insurance.
The orthodontic treatment depend on severity grade of malocclusion both with removable and fixed braces.
Duration of treatment: The orthodontic treatment with fixed braces require generally 18-24 mos.

pro Tag getragen wird. Behandlungsdauer 1 Jahr.
